I had a friend ask me to make a Baby Card for a shower she was attending, of course I said "yes". Then she threw down the challenge when she said "She is registered at Babies R Us, can you look at her bedding, do you have anything that would coordinate with it?" Challenge probably isn't the correct word, but regardless ... I looked at the bedding and had the PERFECT stamp, in a set NEVER used. After using this stamp, I see SO many possibilities ... maybe fun little card sets with these stamps, in the very near future.

Mother's Day for MY mom

Below is the Mother's Day card I made for MY mom. I adore my Mom, as I told her in the card ... she is so amazing and knows just what to say and when to say it. This year started off a little difficult for me and my Mom was so supportive through all of the ups and downs. I love my mom and I only hope to be as good of a woman that she is. I love you MOM!

One of my coworkers wanted some extra special monogrammed stationery, when I asked what colors, she mentioned she was in to Gray, Black and Lime ... ewww, preeeeeeettttttyyyyyyy ... I was so excited to make these, great color combo and I pulled out some stamps that I love, but have not used nearly enough.

A friend of mine recently had a birthday and I loved the high heel "all occasion" card so much that I used one of the cards for her birthday card and then made a matching bag. The bag was put together in about 5 minutes and I didn't have to spend $5, spend time in line at Target (and we all know you can't spend less than $50 per Target trip). :O)

Santa GiftCARD Holder

Merry Christmas everyone .... I hope that everyone had a safe and very special Christmas with loved ones. I had a fantastic Christmas with my family and Santa was sooo very good to me, he must not have been paying much attention to me throughout the year because he was WAY good to me and I don't know that I was that good. Who am I kidding, I am an angel O:-). I am posting a SUPER CUTE gift card holder, the idea came from a pattern that I ran across this on Gretchen Barron's website and I HAD to give it a try.

Paper: Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Ruby Red, Basic Black and Pretty In Pink

Ink: Pretty In Pink (used a dauber and applied to the eyelids and cheeks)

Beard and Hat Rim Texture: White Puff Paint from Michaels (swirl around when applying)

Punches: Eye Lids and Mouth 1-1/4 Circle (cut in half), Eye Balls and Nose 3/4 Circle Punch, Hat Rim uses a corner rounder on the corners, Face and Beard used the Bracket SVG file (you can download for free here) and set the dimensions as 3.58w x 4.58h in Sure Cuts A Lot.

Hat was made by taking a square and cutting it diagonally in half. Hat ball is a cotton ball

4 years ago I started stamping/scrapbooking. After three scrapbooks (of which I have zero), I decided to get out of the scrapbooking business but always stuck to card making. I look back to cards that I created 4 years ago and I see layers and layers and layers. Some people make layers work beautifully ... me ... not so much. Over the years, I have simplified more and more and more. I love the clean (white) space and mainly how quickly the cards come together.

Most of these cards are the same design just modified a little. Hope you enjoy.

It's been TOO long - Halloween and Thanksgiving

Hello,
I apologize for not posting in SO long, a lot going on ... making cards still, I just have not had the chance to sit down and post them on my blog ... New Years Resolution 2010: Post CARDS!!!!!

A couple of new events in my life; I started selling Scentsy Wickless Candles ... OMGoodness, these are the BEST "candles" EVER; haven't heard of them ... check them out on my Scentsy Site. I will use my blog to also keep you up to date on Scentsy information.

Secondly, I am no longer a Stampin Up Demonstrator, nothing against Stampin' Up! due to so many fabulous products, I found myself venturing to other companies (Michaels has AMAZING stamping products) and it became difficult to meet the quarterly Stampin' Up! requirements.

Next ... I am moving in January; I have a couple more weeks of card making and then the supplies will be boxed up until mid-January. No worries, I'll be back in business (in my new and nicely organized studio) in plenty of time for Valentines!

Ohhhh and I am in the works with a couple of partnerships with some amazing vendors. Stay tuned, for more information on these events. I will share as things solidfy ... I am very excited at where these opportunities may go.

Now for the REAL reason, you stopped by .... good news, you get THREE holidays at once: Halloween, Thanksgiving AND Christmas. There is more Christmas to come but for now here goes....

Meeeeee oooooohhhhh myyyyyyy ... I am finding new, fun and exciting challenges every single day. The good news is that by participating in these challenges, I am knocking out my card sets that I am doing for my mom's craft booth AND the church bazarre. I just found this fun little challenge and I had a lot of fun doing it. They are weekly sketches and you have some limitations, which makes it really challenging. Plus, at the end of the month you get a chance to win the newest release from Verve Stamps. Looks like this will be a weekly thing for me :O).

Congratulations to Kristina ... she just posted here 50th colorINSPIRATION ... that is such a great accomplishment! While I did not participate in all 50, I tried to participate in as many as I could. I love the colors this week ... I NEVER would have put all of these colors together, but after seeing the inspiration picture, I knew I was going to use my little ice cream cone that I got at Michaels $1 spot several weeks ago. I also got to have fun with my Cricut and digital files. Now back to watching basketball ... My weekend was cram packed and thanks to weather, I now have NOTHING going on. I have decided that it is going to be filled with card making and basketball watching ... woohoo!!!! Now THAT is what I call a great weekend!!!

To start it off my weekend of cards and basketball, I made my weekly trip to Hobby Lobby and stocked up on tape ... yes, it's half off ... love SALES! I also purchased some fun Spare Parts accessories. Stay tuned, I have some cute ideas in my mind.

After watching my Mavs beat San Antonio, up to my studio I will go for the rest of the afternoon and weekend. Check back soon to see what creations are posted.

colorINSPIRATION {#49} screamed BIRTHDAY to me and I was determined to get a cupcake in it somehow. I know you will be shocked to know that both of the stamps that I used came from the $1 spot at Michaels. I am finally starting to use some of the "inCOLORS" from Stampin' Up! I bought the assorted package and to be honest have only used the Piroette Pink, so I am glad to be using it up on the challenges.

I doubt I will be posting anything else this weekend. My girlfriends and I are having a "Sex and the City" photo shoot ... how fun does this sound??? I can't wait to see how they turn out!!

How super cute are these little bunnies with their little pompom tails ... when I saw this stamp the idea to use pompoms IMMEDIATELY popped in my head. I had no clue what the rest of the card would look like, but I didn't care ... my 2009 Easter cards were going to have these bunnies with their little tails. The colors came together very nice and I used my computer to do the "Happy Easter" sentiment.

Wowsa, what a great day today has been. First, I got a big box of fun fun fun Stampin Up Supplies that I am dying to dig in to. Secondly, I had the pleasure of having King Cake {straight from New Orleans} ... several of my friends are from New Orleans and they brought one back to the office for today ... it was YUMM.O.LICIOUS.NESS!!!!!

Last, I opened up my inbox and had a NEW Michaels 40% off coupon!!!! Can't wait to go purchase the InkADinkADo set that I found the other day. This time I will stay away from the $1 spot {yah, right} ... a girl can dream, right???

Be on the lookout in the next couple of days for sneek peaks with new fun stamps and pretty Designer paper and accents. Unfortunately, I will not be up in the studio tonight ... instead I am going out to celebrate Fat Tuesday and then of course my Mavs are playing San Antonio {big rival game}, so at game time, I will be glued to a television set somewhere in Dallas.

While at Michaels {for my ONE thing}, I made the mistake of walking by the $1 spot. My wallet regrets it, but I am very excited about my finds. I found packages of chipboard accents with 30 very cute little shapes and sayings for $1!!!! There are a couple of things I can't incorporate in to my cards, but the majority of this great little package, I can use.

I also stumbled across $1 ribbon that goes perfectly with my new stamp set that I bought {with my 40% off coupon}.

How stinkin' cute is this cherry Designer Paper. Unfortunately, this is no longer carried by Stampin' Up! However, there is something very similar in the Spring/Summer 2009 line and it is in the Rockabilly Designer Paper pack.

This was made for a friend who lost her father to cancer. This flower comes from one of my all time favorite Sale A Bration sets ... too bad it is gone for good. However, no fear this flower can be replaced with many others that Stampin' Up carries.

These are some Halloween cards that I made this year. Once again, a great design that I often use. This one is great when you have a mass amount of cards to make, or you need to make a quick card. This design also requires very little stamping supplies, could be a quick pick up at Hobby Lobby without a lot of $$$ invested.
